Club Description: The Cardinal Golf Complex is Canada’s largest golf and event facility and is home to three clubs including Cardinal Golf Club, Kettle Creek Golf Club, and RedCrest Golf Club. While these clubs share the same property, they each have their own entrance and clubhouse. 

Job Description  

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to manage full-cycle accounting, including month-end and year-end closing, reconciliations, tax filings, and financial reporting. This role ensures accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information while supporting various departments with accounting needs.

Responsibilities 

Be responsible for month-end and year-end account closing activities and reconciliations.

  • Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries for accruals and variances.
  • Developing bank reconciliations, inter-company reconciliations, and other month-end general ledger reconciliations.
  • Perform foreign currency exchanges.
  • Review trial balance to identify abnormal transactions and make correction when needed.
  • Perform accounting analysis for account payables, account receivables, reconciliations.
  • Prepare the month-end schedules & reports.
  • Maintain the Chart of Account to ensure it meet the business needs.

Handling accounting reports for accuracy and completeness.

Adhere to standard accounting principles and company procedures, ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with and compliance to both internal & external policies.

Be responsible for the quarterly statistic report preparing and submission.

Assist in tax preparation and filing activities, handle the HST filing.

Follow documentation retention procedures to maintain accounting files.

Executing accounting data to external accountant as necessary for annual report review/audit and corporate income tax filings.

Assist various departments in accounting issues and provide appropriate accounting information when needed.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA is a plus.
  • Strong technical accounting background.
  • At least five years general ledger accounting experience is required.
  • Strong Excel and database skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, documentation skills, research and resolution skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Be able to follow standard filing procedures.
  • Deadline and detail-oriented, professional attitude, reliable.
  • Have strong work ethics.
  • Team player and have ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout Company organization.
